Navigation
Launchpad provides flexible navigation options to help developers find content quickly. Configure your portal's navigation structure to match your documentation hierarchy.
Navigation Types
Main Navigation
The main navigation appears in the header and provides top-level access to portal sections:
- Menu Items — Links to internal pages (for example,
/docs) or external pages (for example,https://status.example.com) - Second-level menu items — Sub-items under any menu item for a deeper navigation hierarchy

Replace the header or menu
A published custom component with placement
slot:header or
slot:menu can replace this built-in chrome for matching visitor paths and
audience. Configure that under
Custom Components, not in Main Navigation.
Configuring Navigation
Navigation Editor
Access the navigation editor from Configuration → Main Navigation:
- Place the link label and url (external or internal url)
- Edit/Re-arrange items by clicking on them
- Save changes
Search
The header search field is part of the built-in navigation, not a Main Navigation link.
Developers use it (or ⌘K / Ctrl+K) to find pages, API specs, and
documentation. How results work, filters, and rebuilding the index are in
Search.
Mobile Navigation
Mobile devices get an optimized navigation experience:
- Hamburger Menu — Collapsible main navigation
- Sticky Header — Always accessible navigation
- Bottom Navigation — Optional quick access bar
- Swipe Gestures — Navigate with swipes
