Configure email delivery to ensure developers receive important notifications, verification emails, and updates from your portal.

Launchpad sends emails for:

  • User registration and verification
  • Password reset

Configure your own SMTP server for:

  • Send from your domain
  • Better deliverability with SPF/DKIM

Email Services

Launchpad integrates with popular email services:

  • SendGrid
  • Mailgun
  • Amazon SES
  • Postmark
  • Mailchimp Transactional
  • Any SMTP-compatible service

SMTP Configuration

Setup Steps

  1. Navigate to Configuration → SMTP Authentication
  2. Select Enable SMTP
  3. Enter SMTP settings:
    • Host (e.g., smtp.sendgrid.net)
    • Port (typically 587 or 465)
    • Username
    • Password or API key
    • Encryption (TLS/SSL)
  4. Configure sender address
  5. Send test email
  6. Save configuration

Example Configuration

Host: smtp.sendgrid.net
Port: 587
Username: apikey
Password: SG.xxxxxxxxxxxxx
Encryption: TLS
From Address: developers@yourcompany.com
From Name: Your Company Developer Portal

SendGrid Tip

For SendGrid, use "apikey" as the username and your API key as the password.

Sender Settings

From Address

  • Email — The sender email address
  • Name — Display name in email clients
  • Reply-To — Optional different reply address

Domain Verification

For best deliverability, verify your sending domain:

  • SPF — Authorize sending servers
  • DKIM — Cryptographic email signing
  • DMARC — Policy for failed verification

Email Templates

Built-in Templates

Customize these email templates:

  • Welcome Email — Sent after registration
  • Email Verification — Verify email address
  • Password Reset — Reset password link

Template Editor

Edit templates with:

  • Rich text editor
  • HTML source editor
  • Variable placeholders (e.g., {{user.name}})
  • Preview with sample data
  • Send test email

Template Variables

Available variables in templates:

Variable Description
{{user.name}} User's full name
{{user.email}} User's email address
{{portal.name}} Portal name
{{portal.url}} Portal URL
{{app.name}} Application name
{{action.url}} Action link (verify, reset, etc.)

Testing

Send Test Email

After configuration, send a test:

  1. Click Send Test Email
  2. Enter recipient address
  3. Select template to test
  4. Review delivery status

Check Spam

If test emails don't arrive, check spam folders and verify domain authentication.

Preview Emails

Preview emails before sending:

  • Desktop and mobile views
  • Different email clients
  • Dark mode preview

Troubleshooting

Common Issues

  • Connection refused — Check host and port
  • Authentication failed — Verify credentials
  • Emails in spam — Configure SPF/DKIM
  • Slow delivery — Check service status
